Barossa Valley, Australia This Merlot is a rich deep purple colour, indicative of the variety; the nose displays welcoming hints of stewed plum, perfumed violet, cinnamon and cassis. The varietal stewed plum and blackcurrant fill the mouth evenly, with hints of spice such as clove and cinnamon adding interest and complexity. The long persistence of flavour on the finish is supported by the velvety tannins and a fine line of drying acid, giving texture to the palate. The wine is matured in a mixture of French and American oak and a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon features in the blend.
